A ring-and-crown device created to mentally suppress Broly's Legendary Super Saiyan power, worn by Paragus on his hand and Broly on his forehead.
Broly's Control Mechanism consists of two connected components: a ring worn on Paragus' right hand and a crown fitted to Broly's forehead. The device was built by a scientist named Krang after a teenage Broly attacked his father, blinding Paragus in one eye during a destructive rampage. Realizing he could no longer control his son through parental authority, Paragus commissioned the device to mentally restrain Broly and suppress his overwhelming power.
When active, the crown prevents Broly from transforming into his Legendary Super Saiyan state and significantly dampens his power level, reducing it to a level even lower than Paragus' own. The suppression also produces visible side effects: when Broly achieves Super Saiyan while wearing the crown, his hair takes on a blue-purple tint instead of the signature golden color, and his skin pigment appears noticeably dulled.
Under normal circumstances, the control mechanism functioned perfectly. This changed when Broly encountered Goku on New Planet Vegeta. Broly harbors deep psychological trauma connected to Goku, stemming from their shared time as infants when Goku's constant crying tormented the nearby Broly. Each encounter with Goku caused Broly's power to surge beyond the crown's capacity to contain it.
After three escalating encounters, the ring on Paragus' hand began emitting warning signals, glowing red as the suppression reached a critical failure point. When Broly's hatred for Goku peaked, he shattered the crown entirely and transformed into the Legendary Super Saiyan, going on a berserk rampage against Goku and the other Z Fighters on New Planet Vegeta.
