The chapter opens on a wave of grief as Bulma, Kuririn, and Oolong believe Goku has been vaporized by Jackie Chun's enormous blast. Their accusations of murder dissolve the moment Jackie Chun directs their attention to a heap of rubble where Goku crawls free, completely unharmed and completely undressed. The mysterious old fighter reveals that his shot was never aimed at the boy at all. To cancel the transformation threatening the ring, he obliterated the moon itself, a calm admission that stuns the tournament announcer into lamenting every tradition and tide connected to it.

Two Tired Bodies, One Final Kick

Goku is ready to continue the bout naked until the announcer, spurred on by embarrassed laughter from the stands, convinces him to borrow clothing from Kuririn. Jackie Chun points out that both competitors have burned through their ki reserves, meaning the match must now be settled with bare fists and feet. They trade blows until exhaustion pins them in place, and Jackie Chun identifies Goku's short stature as the critical weakness. He calls for one decisive strike, and the two leap into a mid-air collision of kicks that leaves both fighters crumpled on the tiles.

A Champion by a Syllable

The rules state that whoever rises first and declares victory takes the title. Goku stands before his opponent but collapses mid-sentence, his incomplete claim disqualifying him. Jackie Chun staggers upright, announces himself World Champion, and privately explains that his longer legs let him drive his heel deeper into Goku's face at the last instant.
