Yamcha gives everything he has left against Bandages the Mummy, but the creature's linen limbs and acrobatics prove too much. With the bandit out of the running, Goku takes his place on the stone tongue and squares off against the grinning Mummy in the Devil's Toilet.
Crouching low and gasping for breath, Yamcha tries to shake off the dizzying pace Bandages the Mummy has set. The wrapped creature taunts him openly, daring him to do something clever, so the bandit commits to his signature attack and rushes in with the Wolf Fang Fist. Bandages reads every motion and slips around the flurry without taking a single clean hit. A moment later the Mummy sweeps Yamcha's legs out from under him and pins the bandit to the stone with a brutal stomp. For a heartbeat it looks like Yamcha has already lost, but he throws the Mummy off his chest and over the edge.
Victory seems certain until the Mummy unspools a length of wrapping from his arm, whips it around one of the stone demon's tongues, and swings himself calmly back into the ring. The stunned Yamcha barely registers what he has witnessed before a fist rocks his jaw and a knee drives deep into his stomach. Bandages calmly informs the bandit that the next bit of fight in him will earn a free trip into the poison swamp below. With no clean way out, Yamcha finally raises his voice and surrenders the match.
Yamcha trudges back to his friends, lungs heaving, and offers Goku a quiet apology for failing to clear the path to Baba. Fortuneteller Baba calls for the next name on Goku's side, and the small fighter's hand shoots up before anyone else can speak. Upa grabs at his sleeve, terrified that Goku is about to throw his life away, but the boy just grins and bounds down to the arena floor without hesitation. Baba announces the start of the bout, and Bandages settles into his stance expecting another quick victory.
The Mummy studies his tiny opponent and something about the moment starts to gnaw at him. Goku's posture looks completely relaxed, almost playful, yet no matter where Bandages's eyes travel he cannot find an angle of attack. There is no tremor in the boy's arms, no tightness in his shoulders, no hint of fear. The undead fighter realizes with growing unease that this small challenger, despite his cheerful grin, has left no opening anywhere for a first strike.
