The Power of Goku

Manga ChapterCh. 103

Goku shrugs off Bandages the Mummy's heaviest blows and flattens the wrapped fighter with a single punch, leaving the gallery speechless. Baba skips straight to her fourth champion, the winged devil Akkuman, who wastes no time taking the fight into the air above the Devil's Toilet.

One Clean Punch

Back on the narrow stone tongue, Goku calmly waves Bandages the Mummy forward and asks him to attack first. The boldness makes the Mummy flinch for half a second before Baba snaps at both fighters to get moving. Bandages surges in, drives a fist squarely into Goku's face, then follows with a kick that sends the boy skidding into the head of one of the stone demons. From the gallery, Yamcha, Krillin, Roshi, and the others go pale at the sight of Goku lying still. Baba warns that an unconscious fighter forfeits the match and calls for a response, only for Goku to spring back to his feet without a mark on him, eager to take his turn. Roshi and Puar marvel at how the boy absorbed those strikes like they were nothing.

The Mummy Falls

Bandages lashes out again, but this time Goku simply ducks the wild punch and pivots into a short, brutal jab to the Mummy's stomach. The air leaves the wrapped fighter in a rush, and he crumples in place as if cut from his own bandages. Goku lifts him effortlessly and politely asks for a reply, to which Baba, now visibly rattled, has no choice but to declare the match over. The boy cheerfully tucks Bandages aside so the ring can be cleared. In the gallery, Goku's friends trade disbelieving looks at a knockout that should have been impossible for someone so small.

Akkuman Arrives

Watching from within the mouth of the opposite idol, Spike the Devil Man and a silent masked figure study Goku's performance. Spike concedes that the boy is powerful, yet remains certain he can still put him down. Baba introduces her fourth challenger, Akkuman, and Goku notes aloud how strange all of her fighters look. Roshi is more alarmed than amused. Akkuman usually serves as Baba's final opponent, so pulling him out early can only mean she is saving someone even more dangerous for the end.

First Exchange

Baba signals the start and Akkuman launches upward on his bat-like wings, swooping in from above with outstretched claws. Goku meets the charge with a sharp, perfectly placed kick that startles everyone in the room, Baba included. Yamcha whistles at the speed, and the stunned devil pulls back in the air to reconsider his approach.
