Manga ChapterCh. 211

Goku completes his Spirit Bomb training under King Kai, but a critical miscalculation about travel time forces an urgent plan into action. Through telepathy, Goku contacts Master Roshi and arranges for Shenron to restore his life immediately. With his halo vanishing, Goku races down Snake Way at full speed, while the Saiyans touch down on Earth the very next morning.

Spirit Bomb Mastered

King Kai hurls a brick at blinding speed, challenging Goku to detect it through ki sensing alone and strike it with the Spirit Bomb. Goku succeeds on his attempt, astonishing his teacher. King Kai then explains a vital detail about the technique: the Spirit Bomb draws energy from all surrounding life, so on a planet as tiny as his own, the output is minimal. On a world the size of Earth, however, the gathered energy could be devastating. He warns Goku that careless use might obliterate the entire planet, and advises him to treat it strictly as a last resort.

A Desperate Call to Earth

King Kai announces that the Saiyans will arrive the following day, then immediately panics upon realizing he forgot to account for Goku's return trip along Snake Way. Goku reassures him: though the original journey took six months, his vastly increased speed should cover the distance in just two days. King Kai instructs Goku to place a hand on his shoulder, enabling a telepathic link to Earth. Goku reaches Master Roshi, who happens to be sitting on the toilet, and urgently requests that Shenron be summoned to wish him back to life.

The Wish

Bulma, Puar, Oolong, and Roshi gather the Dragon Balls and call forth Shenron. Oolong blurts out a wish to simply make the Saiyan threat disappear, but Shenron declares this beyond his power, since Kami created him and he cannot grant wishes that exceed Kami's abilities. Bulma scolds Oolong for nearly wasting the wish while leaving Goku dead. Roshi then makes the proper wish, asking Shenron to restore Goku's life. The dragon confirms this is within his power and grants it.

The Race Begins

On King Kai's planet, Goku's halo fades away, confirming his resurrection. Without a moment of hesitation, he leaps onto Snake Way and sprints at maximum speed toward Earth. The clock is ticking. The next morning, at precisely 11:43 AM, the two Saiyan space pods slam into East City. The invaders have arrived, and Goku is still far from home.
