Least Resistance

Vegeta's Rampage

After Yajirobe's surprise sword strike severs his tail and forces him out of Great Ape form, Vegeta is left furious and humiliated. Krillin cheers at the bold move, while Yajirobe cowers behind a rock, terrified by what he has done. Gohan remains in shock, unable to process the chaos around him. Vegeta screams that he will kill every last one of them and charges directly at Gohan, stopping just short to deliver a devastating punch to the boy's stomach. As Gohan doubles over, Krillin flies in to intervene, but Vegeta senses the attack coming. He spins around and kicks Krillin into a rock formation, mocking him for not waiting his turn.

Gohan's Resolve

Vegeta turns back to Gohan, taunting the boy and demanding he stand up and fight. He grabs Gohan by the shirt and headbutts him viciously, sneering that even trash bleeds red. Deciding to show some twisted mercy, Vegeta hurls Gohan's body next to the fallen Goku. Despite his broken body, Goku pleads with his son to keep fighting, insisting that Gohan possesses power far beyond Vegeta's. Gohan protests that it is hopeless, that the Saiyan prince is simply too strong. Meanwhile, Vegeta announces his kill order: Goku first, then Gohan, then the bald one, and finally the coward who cut off his tail. Yajirobe panics upon hearing he has not been forgotten.

A Son's Fury

Goku yells at Gohan to remember everything Piccolo taught him and to at least hold Vegeta off long enough for Krillin to deliver the finishing blow. Vegeta lands knee-first onto Goku's stomach, causing him to cough up blood, and begins kicking the defenseless warrior. Watching his father suffer ignites something deep inside Gohan. He screams for Vegeta to stop and declares that he will be the one to defeat him. Vegeta scoffs at the claim, but Gohan fires a ki blast and follows with a flying kick that sends Vegeta soaring. The two begin exchanging blows in the air, though Vegeta quickly reasserts dominance. As the fight rages above, Goku telepathically calls out to Krillin and reveals his plan: he wants to pass the remaining Spirit Bomb energy he gathered from the Earth over to Krillin.
