Vegeta's Suspicion

Having secured six of the seven Dragon Balls, Vegeta conceals his stolen prize beneath the waters of a Namekian lake. Confident that no one can locate it without a scouter or Dragon Radar, he allows himself a moment of satisfaction. His relief is short-lived. Vegeta's senses detect an energy signature moving at speed across the planet. He recognizes it as too weak to be Frieza or his elite soldiers, yet too purposeful to ignore. The Saiyan prince realizes that someone else on Namek is pursuing an agenda of their own.

The Journey to Guru

Across the green skies of Namek, Krillin flies alongside the young Namekian boy Dende, who serves as his guide to the Grand Elder's home. Dende explains that Guru is the oldest and wisest Namekian alive, the patriarch from whom all living Namekians were born. He warns Krillin that Guru's health has been declining rapidly, weakened by grief over the slaughter of his children at the hands of Frieza's forces. Time is running out.

Krillin presses forward with urgency, aware that the Grand Elder may hold answers about the Dragon Balls and the power needed to stand against Frieza. He reflects on how outmatched the Earthlings are, with Goku still en route and the enemy growing bolder.

Guru's Dwelling

Krillin and Dende arrive at the towering spire that serves as Guru's home, perched high on a rocky plateau. Inside, the enormous and ancient Namekian sits in his chair, attended by his guardian Nail. Despite his frail condition, Guru senses the visitors and permits them entry. He reads Krillin's heart and recognizes the Earthling's pure intentions. Guru reveals that Namek's Dragon Balls were created by him and that their power surpasses what Krillin has known on Earth. He places his hand on Krillin's head, drawing forth dormant potential. Energy erupts from Krillin as hidden reserves of power flood to the surface. Krillin staggers, overwhelmed by strength he never knew he possessed. The chapter closes with Vegeta narrowing his eyes in the distance, certain that something significant is unfolding across the planet.
