Vegeta's Counterattack

Fresh off landing a devastating blow to Zarbon's back, Vegeta presses his advantage without hesitation. He slams Zarbon downward into the water below and follows up with a relentless barrage of ki blasts. Watching from the sideline, Krillin urges Bulma to flee while Vegeta is focused on his opponent. Bulma refuses, terrified that running will only draw the Saiyan prince's attention. Krillin grabs her and starts flying away regardless, but Vegeta spots them instantly, cutting off their escape route with a wall of energy blasts.

The distraction gives Zarbon an opening. He erupts from the water and charges at Vegeta, and the two fighters crash back to the ground. Zarbon seethes with rage and swears to make Vegeta pay. Vegeta, entirely unfazed, explains the reason behind his dramatic power increase. As a Saiyan, he grows stronger each time he recovers from a near-fatal injury. Their previous battle pushed him to the brink of death, and the resulting Saiyan Power has made him far more formidable. Krillin recalls that Goku has displayed this same trait in the past.

Zarbon's Last Stand

Refusing to accept the gap in their power, Zarbon launches himself at Vegeta and the two trade blows in a furious exchange. It ends quickly. Vegeta drives his fist clean through Zarbon's chest armor, shattering it and drawing blood. Zarbon crumbles, unable to continue fighting. Desperate, he drops his pride and begs for mercy, claiming he was only following Frieza's orders and even offering to join forces with Vegeta.

Vegeta has no interest in alliances. He finishes Zarbon off with a devastating Final Galick Cannon straight through the chest, killing him on the spot. Krillin watches in horror. With Zarbon dealt with, Vegeta turns his attention to Krillin. He acknowledges that Krillin has grown stronger but makes it clear the gap between them remains enormous. Krillin, seeing no other option, surrenders the One-Star Dragon Ball in exchange for being left alive. Vegeta accepts the deal and flies off with his prize, while Krillin places all his remaining hope on Gohan keeping the other Dragon Balls out of Vegeta's hands.
