Goku's Kaio-ken pushes his power level to 180,000, prompting both Ginyu and Jeice to wonder whether they are facing the legendary Super Saiyan. Meanwhile, Frieza races toward Grand Elder Guru's home, where Nail prepares to stand as Namek's last line of defense and Dende is sent away with a critical mission.
Goku's power level rockets to 180,000 under the Kaio-ken, stunning both Captain Ginyu and Jeice. Jeice cannot fathom how a Saiyan could reach such heights, and Goku calmly explains that his actual output is even greater when channeled in short bursts. Ginyu arrives at the same conclusion Vegeta reached earlier: Goku may be the legendary Super Saiyan. The idea baffles Goku, who does not even know what a Super Saiyan is. Jeice, however, is visibly shaken, noting that a Super Saiyan is the one thing Frieza has always feared.
Despite their despair, Goku surprises both opponents by offering to spare their lives if they simply leave the planet. The gesture makes Ginyu reconsider his theory. According to legend, the Super Saiyan is a bloodthirsty warrior who lives for combat, and Goku's mercy does not fit that description. Still, Ginyu acknowledges that he is outmatched, yet he seems excited rather than defeated, claiming this is what he has been waiting for.
Far from the battlefield, Frieza speeds toward the dwelling of Grand Elder Guru. Nail senses the tyrant's approach and urges Guru to act quickly. Guru unlocks Dende's latent abilities and instructs the young Namekian to find the Earthlings and help them. Dende flies off and passes Frieza mid-flight, but the emperor dismisses the child as irrelevant and does not bother to stop him.
Frieza arrives and finds Nail waiting outside, blocking the entrance. When Frieza demands to know how to activate the Dragon Balls, Nail refuses to answer. Frieza threatens to kill him, but Nail warns that the Dragon Balls will vanish if Guru dies. Impatient, Frieza blasts a hole through the wall with his Eye Lasers and peers inside. Guru tells Frieza that Nail is the sole true warrior of the Namekian people, then telepathically instructs Nail to stall for as long as possible. Frieza announces that Nail is about to witness ultimate power firsthand.
