Freeza's Third Form

The Third Transformation

With Piccolo, Vegeta, Gohan, and Krillin watching helplessly, Frieza begins his next metamorphosis. Bony spikes erupt from his back, his skull stretches into an elongated shape, the armor plating on his shoulders expands outward, and his facial features flatten as his nose vanishes entirely. Piccolo can only mutter that Frieza is a monster. Krillin tries to stay optimistic, noting that Frieza does not look all that different, but Vegeta shuts him down. The Saiyan prince explains that Frieza's battle power has grown enormously and that every wound from their earlier exchange has completely healed. Far away on Frieza's spaceship, Goku senses the spike in Frieza's energy from inside the Medical Machine and wonders what is unfolding on the battlefield.

Piccolo Outmatched

Frieza wastes no time testing his new body. He charges toward Piccolo, who takes to the air to dodge the initial rush. Frieza pursues, and Piccolo evades again, boasting that he still holds the edge in speed. The confidence is short-lived. In a flash, Frieza appears directly in front of Piccolo and unleashes a rapid barrage of invisible kiai blasts from his fingertips. The shockwaves are too fast to track, and Piccolo is struck repeatedly with no way to defend himself. Each impact sends the Namekian reeling.

Vegeta's Desperate Gamble

Gohan breaks from the group and rockets toward the fight, determined to protect Piccolo. Krillin moves to follow, but Vegeta grabs him and holds him back. With cold calculation, Vegeta tells Krillin to blast him with everything he has, stopping just short of killing him. His reasoning is rooted in Saiyan biology: a warrior who recovers from the brink of death gains a massive surge in power. Vegeta believes this boost could be enough to finally achieve the legendary Super Saiyan transformation and turn the tide against Frieza.
