The End of Namek?

Namek Begins to Die

Goku watches in disbelief as Frieza's Destroy The Planet technique slams into the surface of Namek. The impact produces a massive explosion that tears through the planet's crust, sending shockwaves rippling across the entire world. On King Kai's planet, the deity informs the fallen Z Fighters of what has happened. He explains that Goku had Frieza beaten, but never anticipated the tyrant would be reckless enough to blow up the very ground beneath them. Yamcha demands to know why Frieza would do something so insane, and King Kai reminds him that Frieza is the only one among them who can survive in the vacuum of space.

A Glimmer of Hope

At that moment, Kami reaches out to King Kai through telepathy with urgent news. Mr. Popo is currently on Earth gathering the Dragon Balls to wish the fallen fighters back to life. King Kai's expression shifts from despair to excitement as he realizes something critical: if Kami is still alive, then Piccolo must also be alive, since the two share a linked existence. He quickly begins formulating a plan that hinges on the Dragon Balls.

Five Minutes

Back on Namek, King Kai confirms that Goku, Gohan, and Bulma have survived Frieza's attack. The planet's surface is torn open with yet another gaping crater, and the sky has grown darker. Frieza, still standing, mutters angrily that he held back too much power in his strike. Goku points out that Frieza restrained himself because he feared getting caught in the planet's explosion. Frieza sneers and tells Goku that it does not matter, because Namek will still blow apart within five minutes. Goku replies that five minutes is more than enough time to finish him. Frieza laughs at such boldness and declares that he will now reveal his full power. Goku warns Frieza not to try stalling, but the tyrant blasts him backward into the water below. Goku recovers quickly, and Frieza taunts him, claiming he has not even been using three quarters of his true strength. He announces that he will now fight at 100% full power, and on King Kai's planet, the deity's face drains of all color.
