The Young Man of Mystery

The Challenge

Frieza asks the stranger who has landed before him what he could possibly want. The young man answers calmly: he has come to kill them. Frieza laughs and dismisses the claim as foolish bravado, though he is mildly surprised when the stranger correctly identifies him by name. Frieza says that while he appreciates being recognized even in the far reaches of the galaxy, he is the most powerful being in the universe. He orders one of his soldiers to dispose of the intruder. The soldier's scouter registers a power level of only five, and he attacks eagerly. The young warrior deflects the blast without effort and drops the soldier with a single strike.

Frieza remains unfazed, and the rest of his men charge in at once. The stranger tears through all of them in seconds. The Z Fighters, watching from a distance, feel the spike of energy and the sudden vanishing of multiple kis. Krillin wonders aloud what is happening out there.

A Second Super Saiyan

The young man declares that he will kill both Frieza and King Cold. Frieza sneers that overconfident warriors always die first and offers to demonstrate personally, but the stranger insists he already knows he will win. He tells Frieza to come at him with everything, adding that unlike Goku he is no pushover. Frieza is surprised by the mention of Goku's name. The young warrior then reveals Frieza's critical miscalculation: Goku is not the only Super Saiyan in existence. Golden energy erupts around him as he transforms, and Frieza recoils in disbelief. Far away, the Z Fighters are rocked by the surge. Gohan says the ki feels just like his father's did on Namek.

Burning Attack

Frieza fires a desperate ki blast. The stranger sidesteps it effortlessly and appears behind both tyrants. He calls out to get Frieza's attention, then launches his Burning Attack. The blazing sphere of energy forces Frieza and King Cold to leap skyward to dodge. The young man is already above them. He draws his sword in a single fluid motion and brings it down through Frieza's body, slicing the cyborg cleanly in two.
