Future Trunks finishes his brutal dismantling of Mecha Frieza and turns his attention to King Cold. The galactic emperor offers the mysterious youth a place in his army, but Trunks refuses without hesitation. Cold, convinced the sword is the source of Trunks' power, seizes it and attacks, only to be completely outmatched.
Picking up from the previous chapter's cliffhanger, Future Trunks completes his vertical slash through Mecha Frieza, bisecting the tyrant cleanly. Before the pieces can even fall, Trunks unleashes a ki blast that obliterates every last fragment of Frieza's body. King Cold watches in stunned disbelief as his son is reduced to nothing. High above the battlefield, the Z Fighters sense the tremendous energy and begin flying toward the Northern Wastelands to investigate.
With Frieza eliminated, Future Trunks lands and faces King Cold directly. Rather than attacking immediately, Cold takes a diplomatic approach, complimenting the young warrior's skill and offering him a prestigious position within the Frieza Force. Trunks declines without a moment of consideration. Shifting tactics, Cold asks to examine the sword, theorizing that it must be a weapon of extraordinary power. After a brief hesitation, Trunks tosses the blade to him.
King Cold admires the edge of the blade and, believing himself armed with the key to Trunks' strength, lunges forward in a surprise attack. The gambit fails spectacularly. Trunks catches the sword by its blade with his bare hand and retaliates with a devastating God Breaker blast to Cold's chest. The impact sends Cold crashing through a rock formation as the Z Fighters freeze in midair, astonished by the display. Trunks follows up with a second God Breaker, finishing Cold for good.
With both tyrants destroyed, Future Trunks turns his attention to their spaceship and obliterates it as well. He sheathes his sword, powers down from Super Saiyan, and notices the Z Fighters hovering nearby. Rather than explaining himself, he simply announces that he intends to go meet Goku and points to the location where the Saiyan will land. He invites them to join him. Gohan wonders aloud how this stranger could possibly know his father, while Vegeta seethes internally, insisting that no other Saiyans should exist.
