The Code of the Warrior

With the Z Fighters gathered nearby, Android 17 says he will step in if 18 needs help. He asks Android 16 to join, but 16 flatly refuses, repeating that his sole purpose is to kill Goku. Future Trunks urges Vegeta to retreat, arguing that pride means nothing if he dies. Android 18 taunts that he is welcome to leave, saying those who flee are not worth chasing. Vegeta refuses, declaring he would rather die than accept help from anyone. Android 17 applauds the speech and calls Vegeta a true Saiyan prince. Vegeta spits and says he does not need praise from a puppet. Android 17 then warns the remaining Z Fighters: stay out of the duel, or deal with him.

A Brutal Exchange

Android 18 charges and punches Vegeta in the face, sending him flying. He recovers by kicking off a rock wall, headbutts her, and drives her into the mountainside. Vegeta fires a Big Bang Attack into the rubble before she can dodge. When the smoke clears, 18 is still standing, clothes torn but otherwise unshaken. Vegeta admits the situation is making him angry. Android 18 sheds her jacket, smiles, and says she did not believe any organic being could fight like this. She asks whether Goku is even stronger. Vegeta snaps that he surpassed Goku long ago, and 18 replies with quiet confidence that she has nothing to worry about from either of them.

The Arm Breaks

Enraged, Vegeta hammers 18 with a sustained barrage of strikes that forces her backward. Tien cheers from the sidelines. Future Trunks is awed by his father's power, noting Vegeta is holding his own against an android stronger than those in his timeline. But Piccolo warns that Vegeta is going to die. The Saiyan is burning through his stamina while 18 shows no fatigue at all. Right on cue, 18 blocks Vegeta's elbow, sweeps his legs, punches him as he tries to rise, and finishes with a devastating kick that snaps his left arm. Seeing his father maimed, Future Trunks erupts into Super Saiyan and charges toward the battle.
