A Reluctant Guardian

Piccolo and Kami stare each other down on the Lookout while Mr. Popo watches nervously. Piccolo says Kami can guess why he is here, and Kami admits he never expected they would reunite. Piccolo makes clear this will not be an equal merger; it exists solely to boost his power. Mr. Popo protests, but Kami stops him, conceding the point. He acknowledges that Trunks, who killed Frieza and King Cold, and Vegeta, who surpassed Trunks, were both crushed by the androids. Even a recovered Goku may not prevail. Kami agrees to fuse but only after waiting. Piccolo demands to know why. Kami wants to see whether the androids truly intend to harm Earth. When Piccolo cites the recent battle, Kami counters that the Z Fighters started it and the androids spared them. Piccolo invokes the devastation of Trunks's future, but Kami notes Trunks himself said those androids were different. Piccolo calls Kami a coward and declares he will stay on the Lookout until Kami changes his mind.

Road Trip

In the Northern Mountains, the androids spot a Lucky Foods delivery van at a rest stop. Android 16 lifts the van and dumps its cargo while the terrified workers look on. The trio climbs in, and Android 17 sets a course for Goku's house. Android 18 insists on stopping for new clothes first. They drive off, leaving the employees speechless.

Relocating Goku

Tien parts ways with Krillin and Trunks to check on Chiaotzu. Krillin says they will move Goku to Kame House to buy time. Trunks wonders why the timeline has changed so drastically. Krillin asks whether the androids are truly villains. Trunks says they were cold-blooded monsters in his era but asks why Krillin cares. Krillin deflects, though his thoughts linger on Android 18. At Goku's house, Chi-Chi answers the door expecting Gohan and slams it into Krillin's face. Yamcha reports that Goku has taken the medicine and is improving. When Krillin explains three powerful new androids are coming, Yamcha is stunned. They load Goku into a capsule plane and wait for Gohan, who arrives shortly. Krillin promises to fill him in during the flight.
