Hell's Flash

Reeling from the Rocket Punch, Cell flies backward as Android 16 retrieves and reattaches his fist. He presses the attack, punching Cell to the ground, then grabbing him and hoisting him overhead before slamming him down with enough force to carve a deep crater. Android 17 watches in amazement as 16 detaches both of his hands entirely. Aiming into the hole, 16 unleashes Hell's Flash, a concentrated beam of enormous power. The resulting shockwave sends pillars of energy erupting from the ground across the surrounding area. Far away, Krillin feels the explosion while flying to meet Bulma with the Shut Down Remote. He notes that Piccolo cannot be responsible, since his ki has already vanished.

A Warning Ignored

Android 16 peers into the smoking crater to survey the damage, then reattaches his hands. Tien Shinhan and the other androids continue to stare in shock. Noticing that Android 18 is still nearby, 16 reminds her that he told her to run. She insists there is no need now that Cell has been defeated, but 16 corrects her: Cell is wounded but far from dead, and his regeneration makes him extremely difficult to kill. He implores both 17 and 18 to escape while they can. Android 17, however, refuses. Emboldened by Cell's injuries, he insists on staying to finish the fight and begins taunting Cell to come out and face him.

Absorption

As 17 continues his taunting, Cell bursts from the ground directly behind him. Tien spots Cell and shouts a warning, but it is too late. Cell wraps his tail around Android 17 and begins absorbing him whole. Android 16 dashes toward them but cannot reach 17 in time. The absorption completes, and Cell's body begins to glow with surging energy. He starts transforming as 16 tells 18 they must leave immediately and warns Tien to do the same. On the Lookout, Goku and Gohan feel Cell's ki spike dramatically, and Goku realizes with dread that Cell has absorbed one of the androids. The transformation finishes, and Cell stands revealed in his new Semi-Perfect form, grinning with satisfaction.
