The Birth of Perfection

Vegeta, Future Trunks, Android 16, and Krillin watch as Cell convulses after swallowing Android 18. Vegeta stares in anticipation while the other three look on with dread. Cell's body warps and reshapes itself as Vegeta eagerly awaits a worthy challenge. Future Trunks, furious at his father, charges forward and slams a kick into Cell's newly formed energy barrier, but the blow has no effect. A follow-up punch only hurts Trunks' own hand. The barrier then flashes with blinding intensity and detonates outward. As smoke engulfs the battlefield, a new silhouette appears, and Vegeta grins with satisfaction.

Progress on Two Fronts

At the Lookout, Piccolo watches through the Far-Seeing Arts and announces that Cell has reached completion. Tien and Bulma react in shock. Bulma demands to know what happened to her shutdown remote, and Piccolo reveals that Krillin destroyed it on purpose, adding only that he cannot explain why. Piccolo calls Vegeta a fool and urges him to finish quickly.

Inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Gohan struggles to achieve Super Saiyan. At last he succeeds, and Goku shouts encouragement. Goku coaches him to maintain the form while calming his emotions, but Gohan loses the state and admits it is too difficult. Goku tells him it takes practice, then offers to cut Gohan's overgrown hair.

A Futile Rage

Back on the islands, Cell steps from the dust in his completed Perfect Form. Android 16, Krillin, and Future Trunks are speechless. Vegeta taunts Cell, calling the new body unimpressive and noting it is even smaller than before. As Cell examines his own physique, Krillin seethes and calls him a murderer. Ignoring Trunks' warning, Krillin charges in and lands a punch to the back of Cell's head, but Cell does not even flinch. A barrage of kicks follows with the same result. Cell throws a few test punches into the air, then spins and delivers one effortless kick to Krillin's head, sending him crashing to the ground unconscious.
