Cell vs. Gohan

Standing Face to Face

Gohan walks calmly toward Cell after wiping out every Cell Junior. Nearby, Krillin, revived by a Senzu Bean, asks Future Trunks where the beans came from. Trunks explains that Gohan took them directly from Cell, and the group needs to move farther away from the arena. Krillin wonders aloud whether this is the power Goku had been counting on all along.

Cell tells Gohan not to get overconfident and demands to know if the boy truly believes he can win. Gohan responds coolly by asking Cell the same question. Irritated, Cell calls Gohan arrogant and promises to reveal his true power. He begins a massive charge that sends shockwaves across the battlefield, blowing the spectators backward. The ground cracks and trembles beneath them. Krillin remarks that he can feel the whole planet shaking, yet Gohan stands utterly still, unmoved by the display.

Gohan Takes Control

Enraged by Gohan's composure, Cell charges in and connects with a full-force punch directly to the boy's face. Gohan's head barely shifts. He appears completely unhurt. Cell swings again in fury, but this time Gohan intercepts the fist with his bare hand and holds it in place. Before Cell can react, Gohan drives a punch deep into Cell's midsection. The blow visibly staggers the bio-android, and the watching fighters stare in disbelief.

Cell swipes at Gohan's head with a desperate hook. Gohan ducks beneath it and fires an uppercut into Cell's chin that launches the creature backward through the air. Cell manages to land on his feet, but blood streams from his mouth and his body trembles. He cannot comprehend how a handful of punches have inflicted this much damage. Goku watches with satisfaction while Vegeta, locked in denial, refuses to accept what his eyes are telling him. From behind a distant rock, Jimmy Firecracker reports to viewers that the broadcast camera is broken, but Gohan is dominating Cell in every exchange.
