Return to the Future

Future Trunks steps out of the Time Machine in his own timeline and is greeted by his mother, Future Bulma. She marvels at how much her son has grown, and he briefly mentions the Hyperbolic Time Chamber before she presses him for details about the trip. Trunks shares the news that Goku died but that Gohan avenged him by destroying Cell. He also recounts how Vegeta flew into a rage after Cell killed him, a detail that leaves Future Bulma visibly surprised. Their reunion is cut short when a radio broadcast announces that the androids are attacking Parsley City. Trunks tells his mother he will handle it and heads out immediately.

Androids Eliminated

In Parsley City, Future Android 18 is demolishing buildings while Future Android 17 teases her about losing at a video game, which only makes her angrier. An elderly man tries to fight back by firing a gun at Future Android 17, but the bullets have no effect. Android 17 draws his own weapon and prepares to execute the man, but Future Trunks arrives on the scene before the trigger is pulled.

Future Android 17 taunts Trunks, reminding him of how badly the androids defeated him last time. Future Android 18 adds that they plan to finish him off for good. Trunks says nothing and simply stands his ground. When Future Android 18 launches an Energy Wave at him, Trunks deflects it with one hand and fires back with a blast of his own that vaporizes her instantly. Future Android 17 stares in disbelief at the smoking crater where his sister stood. Before he can process what happened, Trunks closes the distance, kicks him across the ruined street, and destroys him with another concentrated energy wave.

One Last Enemy

Trunks exhales, believing the nightmare is finally over. Three years pass, and the future begins to rebuild. Trunks prepares to travel back in time once more to share the good news with his friends in the past. Just before departure, he asks his mother to step back. He has sensed the arrival of Future Cell, who has come seeking the Time Machine so he can travel to the past and absorb Androids 17 and 18 to achieve his Perfect form. Trunks already knows every detail of this plan. This time, he is determined to end the cycle of destruction before it can begin again.
