Goku uses Instant Transmission to gather Gohan, Vegeta, and Trunks and leads them to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where a single day equals a full year of training. Vegeta and Trunks enter first. The Androids reach Kame House demanding Goku, and Piccolo flies with them to a nearby island chain to settle things with Android 17.
Goku wastes no time after his recovery. He asks Chi-Chi for permission to take Gohan training, and she agrees, though she later admits it was only because she could not refuse the husband she nearly lost to a heart virus. The two say goodbye, and Goku uses Instant Transmission to teleport directly into the airplane carrying Krillin, Yamcha, Piccolo, and Tien toward Cell's last known location. The reunion is emotional; Krillin is so overjoyed he accidentally tackles Goku through the back of the plane.
Goku reveals his plan: the Hyperbolic Time Chamber on the Lookout, a room where an entire year of training can be completed in just twenty-four hours. He teleports again to collect Gohan, then locates Future Trunks, who reports that his training with Vegeta has stalled completely. The Saiyan prince has spent three days standing motionless, staring at the sky, trying to will himself past the Super Saiyan barrier through sheer force of mind. When Goku tells Vegeta about the Time Chamber, the prince agrees to enter on one condition: he goes first.
While the Saiyans prepare, the Androids arrive at Goku's house on Mount Paozu. Android 18 rummages through Chi-Chi's wardrobe looking for something to wear and finds nothing to her taste. Android 16 detects that Goku's most recent location was Kame House, and the three take off in that direction. Elsewhere, Cell terrorizes an amusement park, absorbing every person inside. The Z Fighters arrive at the scene to find nothing but empty rides and abandoned clothing. Cell watches them from above, noting that he could kill them all right now but finds their futile searching more entertaining.
Mr. Popo leads the four Saiyans to the Time Chamber and explains its rules. Only two may enter at a time. Vegeta and Future Trunks step through the door first. At Kame House, the Androids finally arrive and demand to know where Goku is hiding. Piccolo refuses to give up the information and challenges them to a fight. They relocate to a chain of tropical islands, where Piccolo and Android 17 square off. The battle lines are drawn.
This episode showcases a side of Goku that is easy to overlook: his ability to coordinate. Within hours of waking up, he identifies the Time Chamber as the solution, gathers all four Saiyans, negotiates Vegeta's pride, and gets everyone moving in the right direction. He does not charge blindly at Cell. He recognizes that their current power is insufficient and designs a training plan that maximizes their limited time. It is a reminder that Goku's instincts extend beyond combat; he understands how to prepare for a fight as well as how to win one.
His playful nickname for the newly fused Piccolo, calling him Kamiccolo, provides a rare moment of levity in an otherwise grim episode. It also demonstrates that Goku, despite sleeping through the entire crisis, intuitively grasps what happened. He senses the change in Piccolo's energy and deduces the fusion immediately.
This is the 300th episode of the Dragon Ball anime overall, counting both the original series and Z. It is a milestone that the production team marked with a densely packed episode that advances nearly every active storyline simultaneously. Goku recovers and plans. Vegeta and Trunks enter the Chamber. Cell grows stronger. The Androids reach Kame House. And Piccolo prepares for what may be the fight of his life against Android 17.
Goku mentions that he trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber as a child during his years under Kami's guidance, confirming that the room has existed in the franchise's lore since the Piccolo Jr. Saga. His statement that only two people can enter at a time is later contradicted during the Buu Saga when four beings occupy the space simultaneously, suggesting the limitation refers to provisions rather than a hard physical rule.
