The final obstacle to peace in Future Trunks' timeline appears: Future Cell, still in his Imperfect form, arrives to steal the Time Machine and travel to the past. Armed with the strength he gained during the Cell Games, Trunks confronts the bio-android head-on, overpowers him in combat, and obliterates him with a devastating Heat Dome Attack, securing lasting peace for his world.
Three years have passed since Future Trunks destroyed the androids that terrorized his timeline. Only one threat remains: Future Cell, who has arrived at Capsule Corporation seeking the Time Machine. Trunks already knows everything about Cell's plan. The bio-android intends to kill Trunks, commandeer the machine, and travel to the past where Androids 17 and 18 still exist so he can absorb them and reach his Perfect form. Trunks has no intention of letting any of that happen.
Future Cell realizes that Trunks must have already traveled to the past, which explains his knowledge. He cites the calculations of Dr. Gero's spy robots, which concluded that Trunks could never defeat the androids, let alone a being of Cell's caliber. Trunks responds by asking where the androids are now. The implication lands, and Cell's confidence wavers as the truth sinks in: Trunks has already eliminated both of them. Not wanting the fight to damage the rebuilding efforts in West City, Trunks blasts Cell away with an Aero Blast and pursues him to an abandoned stretch of wasteland.
Cell acknowledges that Trunks has grown stronger but refuses to back down. Trunks transforms into a Super Saiyan, and Cell powers up to meet him. The two clash, but the gap in power is obvious from the first exchange. Trunks controls the fight at every stage, landing clean strikes while Cell struggles to keep up. Trunks eventually seizes Cell by the tail and hurls him skyward.
Desperate and disoriented, Cell charges a Kamehameha while still airborne. He looks down just in time to see Trunks gathering an enormous dome of energy between his hands. Trunks unleashes the Heat Dome Attack, and the massive blast engulfs Cell entirely, erasing him from existence. With Future Cell destroyed, the last remnant of Dr. Gero's legacy is gone. Peace is finally assured for Trunks' timeline, bringing the long ordeal of the androids and Cell to a definitive close.
