The Great Saiyaman's elaborate introduction leaves Videl and the robber dumbfounded, but a careless slip of the tongue quickly unravels his secret. After Videl tricks Gohan into confirming his real name, she leverages the information to blackmail him into entering the upcoming World Martial Arts Tournament and teaching her how to fly.
The robber demands to know who this costumed stranger is. Gohan launches into an elaborate, choreographed introduction with exaggerated poses, declaring himself "the Champion of Justice, the Great Saiyaman." Both Videl and the robber stare in disbelief. Before Videl can process the spectacle, Gohan tells her to cuff the criminals, accidentally calling her by name. The slip raises her suspicion immediately, since she never told the Great Saiyaman who she is.
The remaining robber throws a smoke bomb and attempts to flee by car. Gohan rockets above the smoke, chases the vehicle, and knocks the driver out before carrying him back for Videl to arrest. She watches him fly and realizes with certainty that flight is not a trick.
Videl sets a simple trap. She addresses Gohan casually by name and asks him a direct question. Without thinking, he responds naturally, confirming his identity. Gohan is horrified. On the flight back to school in Videl's plane, she asks about the costume. He explains that friends warned him to hide his abilities if he wanted a normal life. Videl asks whether he is also the Golden Warrior. Gohan flatly denies it, knowing at least that identity must stay secret.
Videl brings up the World Martial Arts Tournament. She deduces that Gohan must be the son of Son Goku, a former champion. With that leverage, she delivers her ultimatum: enter the tournament or she exposes his secret to the whole school. Cornered, Gohan agrees. Videl also demands he teach her to fly, and Gohan reluctantly consents.
Videl returns to class first. Gohan follows after changing out of his costume. His classmates mock him for the long bathroom trip, and he slumps into his seat, muttering that this has been the worst day of his life.
