Videl's stubborn refusal to surrender pushes Gohan past his breaking point. When Spopovich moves to crush Videl's head underfoot, Gohan erupts into Super Saiyan, blowing off his disguise in a burst of golden light. Yamu intervenes to end the spectacle, and Goku races to Korin Tower for Senzu Beans as the bruised Videl is finally carried from the ring.
Spopovich continues his vicious assault on Videl. The crowd, Gohan, and even the tournament announcer plead for her to give up, but Videl refuses to concede. She lashes out with a desperate kick to Spopovich's face, and it barely registers. He resumes beating her without pause.
Gohan's anger builds with every blow Videl absorbs. Goku tries to keep him calm, warning that losing control here will cause serious problems. Then Spopovich lifts his boot to stomp on Videl's skull. That is the line Gohan cannot watch anyone cross. His rage detonates. Golden energy erupts from his body as he transforms into a Super Saiyan, shredding his bandana and ripping his cape away in the process. He is about to charge into the ring when Yamu appears and orders Spopovich to stop fooling around. Yamu reminds him that their true objective lies elsewhere and that this fight is nothing but a waste of time.
Spopovich drags Videl out of the ring to end the match. Gohan powers down, rushes to Videl's side, and warns Spopovich that he will answer for every blow he landed on her. Goku wastes no time: he uses Instant Transmission to teleport to Korin Tower to retrieve Senzu Beans. Meanwhile, Gohan carries Videl to the tournament infirmary, where Mr. Satan arrives moments later to check on his daughter.
Gohan promises Videl that he will defeat Spopovich on her behalf. Mr. Satan, overhearing the declaration, grumbles privately about his daughter getting involved with someone he considers a total weakling. At Korin Tower, Korin hands Goku a small bag of beans and voices an ominous warning: he senses that something terrible is approaching, and the worst may be far from over.
