The Light Eater

Babidi is baffled by Goku's golden aura, noting that his energy signature has changed dramatically. He sends a henchman to fetch the strongest energy meter available. On Stage Two, Goku tells Yakon that total darkness offers no advantage against him. Yakon chuckles in response, showing no alarm at all. The energy meter returns a reading of 3,000 kili for Goku, a figure that Dabura declares should not exist in any known race. Babidi suspects the device is broken, noting Yakon's reading is a mere 800 kili.

Yakon opens his enormous mouth and inhales Goku's Super Saiyan aura. The golden light peels away from his body and disappears down Yakon's gullet. Goku reverts to base form and darkness returns. Supreme Kai remembers that Yakon feeds on light energy. Gohan calls out, warning his father not to transform again.

Turning the Tables

Yakon savors the taste and begs for another serving. Goku obliges, transforming once more. Supreme Kai thinks the move is reckless, but Vegeta insists Goku has a plan. Yakon begins gulping down the aura again as Goku visibly strains to hold his form. Babidi screams at Yakon, furious that the beast is devouring the energy rather than inflicting damage to channel it toward Majin Buu.

In one sudden surge, Goku amplifies his power output far beyond what Yakon can absorb. The beast swells larger and larger until his body detonates in a violent explosion. Goku drops his transformation, visibly drained. The floor panel opens to the next stage. As they descend, Gohan remarks on the staggering power his father displayed. Vegeta thinks to himself that Goku has also climbed beyond the wall of Super Saiyan.

Dabura Steps Forward

Babidi is stunned, but Dabura dismisses Yakon's death as simple gluttony. Babidi disagrees, pointing to how rapidly the beast expanded at the end as proof these fighters are abnormal. Dabura volunteers for Stage Three. Babidi hesitates, warning everything collapses if Dabura loses, but the Demon King insists no being alive can match him.
