Buu brutalizes the injured Vegeta, wrapping him in a piece of his own stomach and pounding him relentlessly. Trunks and Goten transform and rush in to rescue Vegeta, kicking Buu away. Piccolo confronts Babidi directly, cutting the wizard in half despite warnings that killing him means no one can seal Buu. Vegeta, barely alive, tells Trunks to take care of his mother.
Vegeta's left arm hangs useless, and he curses his predicament. Babidi notes the Saiyan is still alive and muses he would have made an excellent servant if not for his rebellious nature. Piccolo surveys the scene grimly: Vegeta cannot compete with Buu, Gohan appears dead, and Supreme Kai has fallen. Trunks refuses to accept his father could lose, but Piccolo offers no comfort. Buu tells Vegeta it is over, rips a chunk from his own belly, and stretches it like taffy. He fires a blast from his mouth that Vegeta barely dodges, then snakes the stretched flesh around him, binding his entire body.
Buu dances around the bound Vegeta, kicks him across the dirt, sits on him, and pounds him with both fists. Blood flies from Vegeta's mouth with every impact. Krillin watches in anguish, wondering if Goku and Gohan are already dead. Piccolo warns Trunks that charging in would only add to Vegeta's pain.
Trunks ignores the warning, transforms, and rockets toward the fight. Goten follows. The boys streak past a bewildered Babidi; Trunks kicks Buu off Vegeta while Goten unravels the fleshy binding. Babidi scoffs that more allies will not matter.
Piccolo appears behind the wizard, declaring he can certainly kill Babidi even if he cannot harm Buu. Babidi warns that without him no one can seal the monster, and the planet will be destroyed. Piccolo responds that the world faces destruction regardless. Before Babidi can call for help, Piccolo slashes his arm through the air and cleaves the wizard in two. The halves fall to the ground, still sputtering. Piccolo spits at the remains. Nearby, Vegeta musters enough strength to tell Trunks to take care of his mother. Trunks is confused by the tenderness, and Vegeta manages a rare, genuine smile.
