Super Saiyan Level 3!!!

The Demonstration

Piccolo puzzles over Goku's claim while Babidi calls it nonsense. Goku senses Trunks has stopped moving and spots him hovering mid-air, watching the confrontation. He shouts at the boy to go get the Dragon Radar. Babidi wonders who Goku is yelling at and suspects a plot. Needing more time, Goku drops to base form. Buu thinks he has given up, but Goku corrects him: he wants to explain Super Saiyan properly. He powers up through each stage, labeling the first as standard Super Saiyan, the spikier lightning-wrapped form as Super Saiyan 2, and tells them there is still one level above.

Super Saiyan 3

Krillin suspects Goku is bluffing. Unlike the previous instant shifts, this transformation is a slow, grinding buildup. King Kai pleads with him to stop, warning his remaining time on Earth will suffer drastically. Babidi and Buu stare in disbelief as the ki keeps climbing. Piccolo confirms the energy is rising at a terrifying rate. Even Tien Shinhan, far away in the mountains, feels the whole planet shaking.

The transformation completes. Goku's hair now cascades past his shoulders, thick bolts of lightning whip around his body, and his eyebrows have vanished. He apologizes for the delay, saying he is not yet accustomed to this form. On the Sacred World of the Kai, Gohan senses the ki and recognizes it as his father's. Kibito cannot believe such power reaches them across that distance.

Goku vs. Buu

Buu says Goku's face has gotten scary but insists he is not afraid. Babidi orders Buu to crush him. Goku rockets forward, seizes Buu by his forelock, and delivers a volley of punches before hurling him into the ocean. Buu erupts from the water and fires a barrage of ki blasts. Goku swats every one aside, noting with alarm that his attacks barely damaged Buu and that Buu already copied one of Vegeta's techniques. Buu stretches his arm across a huge distance to punch Goku's face, though Goku absorbs the hit with little harm. King Kai warns Goku urgently: maintaining this power in the living world is consuming his remaining time, and if he vanishes, nobody will be left to teach Fusion.
