Doubts on the Sacred World

On the Sacred World of the Kai, Goku sits beneath a tree eating while Kibito reads nearby. Goku asks the Supreme Kai whether the Old Kai's ritual will genuinely increase Gohan's power. The Supreme Kai believes it will. The dancing phase of the ceremony has concluded, and the Old Kai now sits facing Gohan with his palms extended outward. When Gohan peeks and catches the old man snoring, he shouts at him in frustration. The Old Kai insists he was never asleep and tells Gohan to keep quiet, then promptly nods off again. Gohan is left wondering whether this entire process is a waste of time.

Super Saiyan Fusion

At the Lookout, Piccolo instructs Goten and Trunks to attempt the Fusion Dance as Super Saiyans. He warns them not to let their confidence run wild if the fusion succeeds, remembering how poorly their first successful attempt ended. The boys transform, synchronize their energy, and perform the technique. A brilliant flash fills the sky, and Super Saiyan Gotenks emerges. Piccolo acknowledges that the fused warrior's ki is staggering but wants to know how well he can actually move and fight.

Gotenks boasts that demonstrating his abilities on the Lookout would destroy the place, so he leaps off the platform and heads for the ground below. Piccolo gives chase but cannot keep up. Gotenks circles the planet at blistering speed, lands, and waits for Piccolo to catch up. Satisfied with his own velocity, Gotenks announces he wants to test his strength against Majin Buu right now.

Out of Time

Piccolo protests, warning that charging in recklessly is exactly what went wrong before, but Gotenks ignores him and rockets toward Buu's house. Piccolo calls after him, shouting that he has barely a minute of fusion time remaining. True to Piccolo's warning, Gotenks arrives at Buu's dwelling and begins shouting challenges, only to split back into Goten and Trunks on the spot. The two boys scramble away in a panic. Buu emerges from inside, confused by the commotion, but Mr. Satan smoothly covers for them, assuring Buu that nobody would dare disrespect him.
