Humanity's End

Manga ChapterCh. 482

Super Buu arrives at the Lookout demanding the fighter he was promised. Piccolo stalls, but Buu grows impatient and wipes out nearly every remaining human with a single omnidirectional blast. Given one hour, Piccolo plans to use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to squeeze fifteen days of training into that window. On the surface, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Mr. Satan survive.

The Demand

Piccolo braces for death, but Super Buu does not attack. Instead, Buu screams a demand: bring out the fighter who was supposed to face him. Piccolo asks for clarification, and Buu explains that he was told a worthy opponent exists, and this is the only place where he senses large power levels. Krillin and Yamcha clench their fists as the non-fighters emerge from inside the temple.

Piccolo confirms the promised warrior is present but currently resting. Buu orders him to wake the fighter immediately, but Piccolo insists he needs more rest to reach full potential. Buu considers this and flatly states that he hates waiting.

The Human Extinction Attack

Piccolo silently apologizes to Earth's survivors, resolving to use the Dragon Balls to revive them later. He tells Buu the fighter cannot be ready until Buu has finished killing everyone on the planet. Buu grins and paces along the Lookout's edge, peering down at the world below. Without warning, he raises one hand and fires a blast into the sky. The energy splits into countless beams that rain across the globe, seeking out and killing virtually every remaining human in seconds. Buu turns back and announces the task is done.

Buying Time

Piccolo agrees to arrange the fight but says the warrior needs time to prepare. He negotiates one hour. When Buu does not understand how long that is, Piccolo conjures an hourglass. Buu stares at it impatiently. Piccolo then points to Videl, identifying her as Mr. Satan's daughter. The mention of Satan gives Buu pause. He confirms Videl carries the same scent and reluctantly agrees to wait, warning that when time expires he will kill everyone, including Satan's child.

Piccolo pulls Krillin aside and reveals the plan: take Goten and Trunks into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where one hour equals fifteen days inside. The boys need every bit of extra training they can get. On the surface, the extinction attack was not perfectly thorough. Tien and Chiaotzu dodged the blasts, and Mr. Satan wanders the ruins with the puppy.
