Buying Time

As Piccolo guides Buu toward the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Krillin questions the choice of battlefield. Dende explains: if the boys lose, Piccolo can destroy the entrance and seal Buu in a separate dimension. If they die, the Dragon Balls can bring them back. Yamcha notices Piccolo is leading Buu in circles, and Krillin confirms each minute outside gives the boys six more hours of training. Buu grows agitated by the lengthy walk, but Piccolo insists the opponents are at the very bottom of the structure.

A Reckless Plan

Inside the chamber, Trunks and Goten catch their breath after exhausting training. They have pushed past standard Super Saiyan, but can only hold the form for five minutes before Fusion expires. Trunks proposes starting in base form, dragging the fight out, then transforming with five minutes left to crush Buu effortlessly. The plan doubles as revenge for their fathers, Gohan, and Goten's mother.

Piccolo interrupts through telepathy, warning that Buu is already on his way. Goten panics because they just finished a Fusion. Piccolo reassures them he is still stalling, giving the boys roughly six more chamber hours. They use the window to sleep and recover.

The First Clash

Buu and Piccolo enter the chamber. The boys stand ready in the vast white expanse. Trunks is disappointed that only Piccolo will witness their triumph. They taunt Buu and begin the Fusion Dance, but Buu flies in and punches Trunks mid-pose. Trunks scolds him, insisting they were obviously about to do something great. The boys restart and complete the dance. Gotenks appears in a flash of light. Buu remembers beating the fused warrior before, but Gotenks insists he is completely different now. He launches a flurry of kicks and punches. Buu casually asks if he can attack now. Gotenks tells him to wait, convinced Buu is faking it. Piccolo watches the exchange and silently fears the worst.
