Vegeta's Plan

Manga ChapterCh. 508

Goku loses his Super Saiyan 3 transformation entirely, admitting the form consumes too much energy in a living body. As Good Buu and Kid Buu continue their savage fight, Vegeta devises a bold plan involving the Namekian Dragon Balls. The group races to New Namek to summon Porunga and restore both the Earth and everyone killed since the World Martial Arts Tournament.

Goku's Power Fails

Vegeta berates Goku for failing to gather enough ki, noting with frustration that he has reverted to his base form. Goku explains that Super Saiyan 3 was far easier to maintain while dead; the transformation devours the energy reserves of a living body at an alarming rate. Resigned to the situation, Goku concedes defeat. Meanwhile, Good Buu and Kid Buu lock eyes and charge at one another again. Kid Buu drives an elbow into Good Buu, slams him into the ground, and traps him in a headlock. Mr. Satan rushes over to help but is swatted aside effortlessly. Good Buu manages to break free, hurling Kid Buu into the dirt, and attempts to turn him into chocolate with his transformation beam. Kid Buu dodges the beam and retaliates with a blast from behind.

The Namekian Dragon Balls

Good Buu regenerates and the two Majins resume exchanging blows. Goku observes that the situation looks increasingly grim. After a period of silent contemplation, Vegeta suddenly calls out to the Supreme Kais and Dende through the crystal ball, ordering them to travel to New Namek immediately and gather the Dragon Balls. Old Kai hesitates, but Dende insists they have no alternative. Kibito Kai teleports the group to New Namek, where the Namekians have already assembled with all seven Dragon Balls.

Porunga's Wishes

Vegeta instructs Dende to summon Porunga right away and make two specific wishes: first, restore the destroyed Earth to its original state; second, revive everyone who died since the day of the World Martial Arts Tournament, excluding the truly evil. Goku questions why Vegeta did not simply wish to revive those killed by Buu, and Vegeta explains that wording would have also brought back Babidi and Dabura while leaving out the spectators Vegeta himself killed at the tournament. Moori reassures the group that Porunga has been upgraded since the Frieza crisis and can now revive multiple people with a single wish. Dende speaks the first wish in the Namekian language, and Porunga grants it with a cheerful gesture. Out in space, the Earth reappears, fully restored.
