The final chapter of Dragon Ball. Pan demolishes her adult opponent in seconds, and Goku faces Uub in the match he has been waiting ten years to fight. After provoking the timid boy into unleashing his hidden power, Goku is stunned by Uub's raw strength. Goku forfeits the tournament on the spot, choosing instead to fly off with Uub to train him as his successor.
The announcer reviews the bracket and invites fighters to warm up. Goten grumbles about facing Good Buu in round one, while Goku notes he should have trained harder. The towering Mo Kekko mocks Pan and tells her to go home, while Knock taunts Vegeta about his age. Vegeta casually punches Knock into a brick wall.
The first match begins. Pan, only four years old and the grandchild of Mr. Satan, faces Mo Kekko, a giant who reached the semifinals of the previous tournament. The bell rings, and Pan launches herself at the enormous man, punches him in the face, then kicks him out of the ring and into the arena wall. After confirming he is still breathing, the announcer declares Pan the winner. She takes a cute bow.
The second match pits Goku against Uub, a ten-year-old boy from a remote southern island. Goku encourages Uub to relax, but the boy is frozen with nerves. Goku resorts to a deliberately crude strategy: he insults Uub's mother, mocks his family, and threatens to send his bones home as a souvenir. Trunks and Goten watch in bewilderment.
The taunting works. Uub erupts in fury and charges with a devastating kick. Goku blocks it but feels genuine pain. The two trade blows at blistering speed, shocking every spectator. Uub unleashes a kiai that sends Goku flying, though Goku catches himself in midair. Landing, Goku notes Uub cannot fly and has never received proper training.
Goku apologizes for the insults and offers to move to Uub's village to train him. Uub worries about his family's poverty, but Goku promises to borrow money from Mr. Satan. He declares Uub the future protector of Earth, delivers a hasty farewell to his friends, and rockets off with the boy on his back. Piccolo smiles, saying Goku has not looked this happy in years. Vegeta understands that Goku's true motive is finding someone who can push him to new heights.
