Beerus confirms through the Oracle Fish that a Super Saiyan God will appear before him. Learning that surviving Saiyans reside on Earth and one trains on King Kai's planet, the God of Destruction travels there to test Goku's strength. Despite escalating through Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and Super Saiyan 3, Goku proves no match and falls to a single pressure point strike.
On his home planet, Beerus questions the Oracle Fish about a prediction involving a Super Saiyan God. She confirms his recollection without hesitation. Excitement surges through Beerus, but Whis tempers it with a practical concern: most Saiyans perished when Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta long ago. Still, a handful of survivors now live on Earth, and one Saiyan in particular trains on King Kai's planet in Other World. With a clear destination in mind, Beerus and Whis set off for the tiny world of the North Kai.
Goku is in the middle of training alongside Bubbles when King Kai senses an overwhelming presence approaching. The diminutive deity frantically warns Goku about Beerus, explaining his title and terrifying reputation. Moments later, Beerus and Whis touch down. Despite King Kai's desperate protests, Goku eagerly accepts a challenge from the God of Destruction. He transforms into a Super Saiyan, but every attack fails to land cleanly. Growing frustrated, Goku pushes further to Super Saiyan 2 and then Super Saiyan 3. None of his forms prove sufficient. Beerus, visibly bored, demands that Goku show him the Super Saiyan God transformation. When Goku admits that Super Saiyan 3 is his absolute limit, Beerus vanishes from sight, reappears behind the Saiyan, and drops him with a precise chop to the back of the neck.
Elsewhere in the cosmos, a rotund figure watches the confrontation from a distance. Champa, the God of Destruction of Universe 6, senses his twin brother engaged in combat with Goku. He tells his attendant Vados that Beerus is too distracted to notice their movements. When they observe Beerus and Whis departing for Earth, Champa breathes a sigh of relief, grateful that his presence remains undetected. With his brother's attention fixed on the Saiyans, Champa continues pursuing his own hidden agenda. Beerus and Whis arrive above the blue planet, ready to continue their search for the Super Saiyan God.
