Goku and Vegeta train under Whis on Beerus' planet and accidentally debut Super Saiyan Blue during a sparring match. Champa and Vados arrive, revealing themselves as the Universe 6 counterparts to Beerus and Whis. After sampling Earth cuisine, Champa discovers his universe lacks an equivalent planet and challenges Beerus to a five-on-five tournament.
Some time after Golden Frieza's defeat, Goku and Vegeta continue training on Beerus' planet under Whis. The Saiyans spar vigorously, and Goku gains an edge by weaving Instant Transmission into his attacks. Vegeta grows frustrated, falling into the emotional weakness Whis has warned him about. Just before Goku lands a decisive blow, Vegeta snaps into Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan and fires a ki blast. Goku matches the transformation instantly. Both repeat the absurdly long name until Goku bites his tongue. He complains about the label, and Whis suggests a simpler alternative: Super Saiyan Blue. They accept on the spot. Because their match was supposed to restrict transformations, Whis punishes them with heavy weighted suits.
Champa and Vados arrive and demand that Whis fetch Beerus. While Whis goes to wake his master, Goku makes an unflattering remark about Champa's physique. Vados explains that Champa is Beerus' twin brother and serves as the God of Destruction for Universe 6. She introduces herself as Whis' older sister and claims to be slightly stronger, a point Whis disputes upon his return.
Beerus and Champa have a tradition of exchanging food. Beerus presents Cup Ramen; Champa offers a boiled egg from a rare bird. After tasting the noodles, Champa demands to know where they originate. Beerus tells him Earth, and Champa orders Vados to find an Earth in Universe 6. Whis explains to the Saiyans that the twelve universes exist in pairs, with twins adding up to thirteen. Vados locates their Earth but reports that its humans were wiped out by a pointless war. Furious, Champa proposes a tournament of five warriors from each universe in one-on-one matches. Goku can barely contain his excitement.
