The Battle Begins!

Meeting the Opposition

Before the matches begin, fighters from both universes size each other up. Frost, Emperor of Universe 6, draws immediate attention as the clear counterpart to Frieza. Piccolo studies him and determines that Frost does not radiate outright evil, yet senses something concealed beneath the surface. Cabba approaches Vegeta and confirms he is a Saiyan from Planet Sadala. Universe 7 once had its own Sadala, but it fell during a civil war. The surviving Saiyans migrated to Planet Plant and wiped out the Tuffles, renaming the world Planet Vegeta. Cabba mentions that Universe 6 Saiyans lost their tails through evolution and serve as protectors rather than conquerors. Vegeta expresses a desire to visit Sadala someday, and Cabba welcomes him warmly.

The Written Exam

All combatants must pass a ten-question test with a minimum score of fifty percent. Universe 6's fighters clear the exam easily. On the Universe 7 side, Majin Buu fails completely, unable to write even his own name. Goku barely scrapes by at exactly fifty percent. The result leaves Team Universe 7 at a five-to-four disadvantage, giving Champa an early reason to celebrate. Goku also approaches Auta Magetta and asks if he is a robot. Magetta explains that he belongs to a species called the Metalmen.

First Clash: Goku vs. Botamo

The format calls for continuous one-on-one matches until one side has no fighters remaining. Universe 7 sends Goku first, followed by Piccolo, Vegeta, and Monaka. Universe 6 leads with Botamo, then Frost, Magetta, Cabba, and Hit. The match opens with Goku jogging in circles, claiming he needs to settle a recent meal. Once the fullness passes, he shifts gears and delivers a powerful punch that sends Botamo skidding backward. Champa admits he underestimated the Saiyans but insists Botamo has a hidden ability. As Goku starts to celebrate, Botamo rises and reveals that the fight is far from finished.
