Manga ChapterCh. 43

Merus recounts how the Grand Supreme Kai sacrificed his divine power ten million years ago to seal the magic of a planet-devouring sorcerer named Moro. Goku and Vegeta volunteer to help and are deputized before joining Merus on a trial mission against the Macareni Siblings.

The Legend of Moro

Ten million years in the past, the Grand Supreme Kai and the South Supreme Kai battle Moro, a sorcerer who hurls comets from space and drains entire planets of their life energy. After absorbing a nearby world, Moro overwhelms both Kais. Galactic Police officers observing from afar identify him as the being behind 320 planetary extinctions but concede they cannot intervene.

With no alternative, the Grand Supreme Kai pours all of his divine power into the Kai Kai Matoru, a forbidden sealing technique. The strike incapacitates Moro, and the Galactic Patrol imprisons him. Though sentenced to death, no one was strong enough to carry it out, so he remained locked away until recently.

Deputized and Deployed

Merus finishes relaying this history to Goku, Vegeta, and Jaco. Moro likely regained a sliver of his magic, enabling his escape. The Patrol needs the Grand Supreme Kai extracted from Good Buu to perform the seal again, but Buu has fallen asleep and could stay that way for days. Goku volunteers to help capture Moro, and Vegeta reluctantly agrees. While talking with Merus, Vegeta quietly senses hidden strength in the young agent despite being unable to read his energy. The Galactic King appoints both Saiyans as temporary members; they wear the insignia on their own clothes rather than the standard uniform.

Train Heist on Planet Jung

An alert sends the group after the Macareni Siblings, repeat offenders who hijack a train carrying the precious mineral Blue Aurum. Merus leaps onto the train and confronts the leader, Pasta Macareni, who detaches a compartment and destroys the track beneath him. Using rocket boots and brute strength, Merus halts the runaway cars before they plunge off a cliff. The gang tries to flee in a ship, but Goku stops it. Vegeta notices that Merus had already sabotaged the vessel. Afterward, Vegeta questions Merus about concealing his power; Merus deflects. A scout soon reports Moro's position, and when Goku reaches out with his senses, Moro grins back, fully aware he is being tracked.
