Piccolo and Soldier 15 arrive at Pan's kindergarten for the staged kidnapping, but the three-year-old knocks the real soldier out cold. Pan plays along, feigning terror in a recorded message used to bait Gohan. His fury erupts in a Super Saiyan transformation that collapses his house. At the base, Piccolo's bluff of threatening Pan pushes Gohan back into his Ultimate form.
Soldier 15 arrives at Pan's kindergarten and tries to claim he is there to take her home. Pan instantly knocks him unconscious. She senses Piccolo's familiar ki nearby, and the Namekian loads both her and the fallen soldier onto the Red Ribbon aircraft. A police officer questions Piccolo about his illegally parked plane, but he brushes the encounter off and takes to the sky.
Aboard the aircraft, Piccolo fills Pan in on the plan. At the base, Pan puts on a convincing performance, screaming in mock terror for a recording that will be sent to her father. Piccolo and the groggy Soldier 15 then fly to Gohan's house to deliver the message in person.
At first, Gohan barely reacts to Soldier 15 holding him at gunpoint. The moment the footage of Pan appears, however, everything changes. Gohan rockets through the window and transforms into a Super Saiyan, releasing a shockwave so massive it carves a crater beneath his feet and sends his own house tumbling down. Terrified, Soldier 15 drops his tough act, apologizes, and politely asks Gohan to follow him, promising that Pan is unharmed.
Gohan lands at the Red Ribbon compound and charges straight toward Pan, who waits at the top of a tower behind a wall of soldiers, the organization's leadership, and both Gamma androids. Gamma 2 intercepts him with a kick, but Gamma 1 steps forward to take the fight. Even after going Super Saiyan, Gohan finds himself at a clear disadvantage against the android's precision and power.
Seeing that Gohan still lacks the edge he needs, Piccolo escalates the ruse. Posing as a loyal Red Ribbon soldier, he grabs Pan by the collar and lifts her off the ground, threatening her in full view of the battlefield. The Gammas themselves protest his actions, disturbed by the cruelty, but the provocation achieves exactly what Piccolo intended. Rage and desperation surge through Gohan, and he breaks through his ceiling, reawakening his dormant Ultimate form. With his full power restored, the tide of battle is about to shift.
