A Desperate Sacrifice

While the group scrambles for a strategy, Android 18 slams Fat Gotenks headfirst into Cell Max's cranium, producing visible cracks in the weak point. High above, Gamma 2 gathers every ounce of his energy for a kamikaze dive aimed at the android's skull. The remaining fighters coordinate a distraction long enough for Gamma 2 to begin his descent, but Cell Max spots the incoming strike at the last second and blocks it. The impact still tears Cell Max's arm clean off, and Gamma 2 collapses, completely drained.

Orange Piccolo Rises

Cell Max attempts to crush Gamma 2 underfoot, but Piccolo intervenes, shifting into Orange Piccolo and catching the enormous foot with both hands. Krillin reminds Piccolo of the gigantification technique he used at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament. Piccolo swells to match Cell Max's frame and hurls the android backward. Gohan believes the tide has turned, but Piccolo warns that growing larger does not actually increase his strength.

Piccolo presses the last Senzu Bean into Gohan's hand, declaring that everything rides on his power. Before Gohan can eat it, Cell Max blasts Piccolo's arm and sends the bean flying. Cell Max seizes Gohan by the leg and slams him into the ground hard enough to knock him out of Super Saiyan.

Pan Takes Flight

Battered and bleeding, Gohan spots the bean tumbling toward the rubble below. He staggers to his feet, but Pan leaps off the building first. In that instant, she discovers the ability to fly. She catches the bean and throws it to her father, who swallows it and surges back to full health. Gohan transforms into his Ultimate state, lands a crushing uppercut on Cell Max, and blasts him off the structure entirely. Piccolo tells Gohan to prepare his most powerful Kamehameha while he pins Cell Max down for the finishing blow. Above them, Cell Max rises once more, stronger and more enraged than before.
