Son Gohan's Ultimate Awakening!

Holding the Line

Gohan concentrates on building his chi to a level that can surpass Cell Max while Piccolo wages a grueling one-on-one struggle to keep the android occupied. Piccolo is clearly outmatched, and Gotenks, Android 18, Krillin, and Gamma 1 throw themselves back into the fight to support him. Cell Max dispatches them all in short order. Gohan braces to intervene, but Piccolo orders him to stay back, insisting that his power must exceed Cell Max's before he enters the battle.

Cell Max seizes Piccolo and hurls him skyward, then bombards the Namekian with a relentless barrage of energy blasts. The android charges up a massive attack and launches it while Piccolo is still airborne. Gamma 1 races to intercept, and the two vanish in an enormous explosion.

The Beast Awakens

From below, Gohan watches the blast consume his mentor and something inside him snaps. His aura erupts, his hair elongates and turns white, and his irises blaze red. Cell Max drives a fist into Gohan's stomach, but the Saiyan does not move a millimeter. In response, Gohan delivers a single devastating kick to the android's abdomen that sends Cell Max rocketing into a distant mountainside.

Piccolo lands on the ground moments later, alive thanks to Gamma 1, who used his barrier to shield the Namekian at the cost of his own remaining energy. Cell Max emerges from the rubble, powering up an even deadlier final technique and beginning to ascend into the sky.

Grounding the Monster

Piccolo stretches his arms outward, coiling them around Cell Max's massive frame to anchor him to the ground. Gohan begins charging a powerful Special Beam Cannon. Panic-stricken, Cell Max deploys his wings to break free, but Gamma 1, Krillin, and Android 18 systematically destroy them before the android can gain altitude. Piccolo shouts for Gohan to fire, declaring that this is the best chance he will ever get.
