The Red Ribbon Remnants

Returning from Magenta's funeral, Carmine and Soldier 15 discuss the army's future. Their funding and research remain intact, but Carmine decides operations are pointless while Gohan and Piccolo are still active. Stuck in traffic, they witness Saiyaman X-1 and X-2 dismantling a group of bank robbers. Impressed, Carmine treats the young heroes to pizza and tells them he wants them to take down a dangerous criminal. Trunks declines payment, and both boys doubt the mission's heroism. Carmine goads them by implying they are afraid of the target, and the two accept to prove their courage.

Training on Beerus' Planet

Vegeta and Broly spar while Vegeta coaches the larger Saiyan, telling him to wield his rage rather than suppress it. Vegeta ascends to Super Saiyan and Broly holds his own without going berserk. Whis notes the growth with interest. Vegeta acknowledges Broly's progress but observes he still cannot access full power without losing control.

After a break, Beerus asks about the latest Earth incident. Whis explains that Gohan and Piccolo defeated Cell Max, though Beerus needs reminding of who Gohan is. Vegeta reports that Gohan surpassed both himself and Goku during the fight, and Goku wishes he could have seen it. Vegeta reminds him they were busy with their own match, the one Vegeta won.

The Trap Springs

Back on Earth, Carmine drives the boys to Gohan's house, presenting the Saiyan scholar as the villain who needs defeating. He opens fire on the house and Gohan storms outside, immediately recognizing Carmine and Soldier 15. Convinced they have returned to kidnap Pan, Gohan transforms into Beast. Carmine urges the Saiyamen to attack, but Gohan appears in front of the car in an instant, denting the door as he grips it. Spotting Goten and Trunks inside, he demands an explanation and powers down. On Beerus' Planet, Goku senses the enormous spike in Gohan's energy, locks on with Instant Transmission, and teleports to Gohan's location, greeting his sons after a long absence.
