An anthropomorphic hedgehog-like alien species that appears in the Dragon Ball Super manga. Roughly human-sized and sapient, they possess quill-based combat abilities and the remarkable power to generate warp portals for escape. Their planet was invaded by agents of the Heeters.
The Hedgehog-like Humanoid Race is an unnamed species of anthropomorphic aliens bearing a strong resemblance to bipedal hedgehogs. They stand at heights comparable to the average Earthling, with bodies covered in sharp quills that serve as both defense and weaponry. Their Japanese designation, Harinezumi Seijin, translates roughly to "Hedgehog Aliens."
Two distinct abilities define this species. The first is Quill Combat, the capacity to fire their hair-like needles as projectiles against attackers. The second, and more extraordinary, is their ability to generate light-blue warp portals with their bare hands. These portals serve as emergency escape routes, allowing members of the species to transport themselves and others across planetary distances in an instant.
The Hedgehog-like Humanoids came under brutal assault when Seven-Three, Shimorekka, and Yunba descended on their planet in search of food sources. These agents, operating on behalf of the Heeter organization, showed no mercy during the raid. The invasion forced the planet's inhabitants to flee for their lives.
During the attack, an adult male was seen creating a warp portal so that two young children could escape the devastation and reach another planet. In a quieter moment amid the chaos, a young boy from the species caught sight of his own reflection in a glass mirror, a small detail that humanized these alien creatures and underscored the innocence being destroyed by the invaders.
This race has no official name within Dragon Ball canon. The "Hedgehog-like Humanoid Race" designation is a fan-given conjectural title based on their physical appearance. Despite their brief appearance in the Dragon Ball Super manga, they left an impression through their unique combination of abilities and the emotional weight of their story.
Their fate after the invasion remains unknown. Whether any significant population survived beyond those who escaped through the warp portals is never addressed in the manga. They join a long list of alien civilizations in the Dragon Ball universe whose encounters with powerful invaders resulted in near or total annihilation.
