Sui's Race

Race

A race of fish-like humanoid aliens who served in the Frieza Force across multiple eras. Recognizable by their skull-like faces, fin-topped heads, and total lack of noses, they are among the oldest species to serve in the galactic army.

Skulls with Fins

Members of Sui's race are humanoid in build but distinctly aquatic in appearance. Their most striking feature is the complete absence of a nose, which gives their faces a skeletal quality. Fins protrude from the tops of their heads and sometimes from their cheeks, reinforcing their fish-like nature.

Their skin tones vary, with some members displaying yellow coloration alongside the more common shades seen across the Frieza Force ranks. They stand at roughly the same height as Earthlings, blending seamlessly into the mixed-species military structure that Frieza maintained.

From Chilled to the New Frieza Army

This species has served the galactic empire longer than most. Members were present in Chilled's personal forces during the ancient assault on Planet Plant, making them one of the earliest races conscripted into what would eventually become the Frieza Force.

By the time of Frieza's reign, many served during the Namek Saga. The most prominent individual, Sui, was dispatched alongside Banan by Zarbon's order to investigate the Z Fighters after they landed on Namek. Sui destroyed the Nameless Namekian's spaceship, but both scouts were swiftly defeated by Gohan once his true power surfaced.

Members also appeared among Frieza's soldiers during the Genocide of the Saiyans, and later in the Dragon Ball Super manga, where one served on Garana's team and became the first character to witness a Super Dragon Ball before being killed by Champa.

Expendable but Enduring

Despite individual members rarely surviving their encounters with the series' heroes, the species proved remarkably persistent across galactic history. When Sorbet reassembled the Frieza Force remnants to resurrect his master, members of Sui's race were once again among the ranks. They accompanied the newly revived Frieza to Earth as part of the thousand-strong invasion force, only to be easily defeated by the Z Fighters.

The most notable member remains Sui himself, whose brief but memorable appearance on Namek established the species in Dragon Ball lore. His overconfidence in destroying the heroes' ship, followed by his swift defeat, perfectly encapsulates the role these soldiers played: loyal, numerous, and thoroughly outclassed.
