The natives of Planet Tritek, a world conquered by Saiyan warriors. Though never seen on screen, the Tritekians gave Vegeta and Nappa enough trouble to earn a mention, with Nappa calling it a "crazy battle." Their existence is exclusive to the English dub.
The Tritekians are the assumed inhabitants of Planet Tritek, a world that fell to Saiyan conquest at some point before the events of Dragon Ball Z. No member of this race has ever been shown on screen, and their physical characteristics remain entirely unknown.
Their existence is inferred entirely from dialogue. The planet's name and the conflict that took place there provide the only evidence that this species existed at all. Even their name, "Tritekian," is a fan-derived designation based on their homeworld.
What little is known about the Tritekians comes from Nappa's offhand comment about a "crazy battle on Tritek." This remark arose when he referenced the batch of Saibamen that survived the conflict, suggesting the Tritekians put up enough resistance to make the battle memorable even for hardened Saiyan warriors.
For a race to give Vegeta and Nappa genuine difficulty implies considerable power. The Saiyans were elite fighters even by Frieza Force standards, and any species capable of making their conquest feel "crazy" rather than routine must have possessed significant combat capabilities.
It is worth noting that the Tritek war was never mentioned in the original Japanese version of the series. The conflict is entirely a product of the English translation, making the Tritekians a dub-exclusive addition to Dragon Ball lore.
The Tritekians occupy a peculiar space in Dragon Ball's mythology. They are a race that technically does not exist in the original source material but has become an accepted part of the franchise's expanded universe through the English-speaking fanbase.
Their world, Tritek, appears in various Frieza Force planetary listings, lending the dub addition a degree of retroactive legitimacy. Whether Toriyama ever intended for a species on that planet to have challenged Vegeta and Nappa is unknown, but the English dub created a small piece of worldbuilding that fans have preserved ever since.
