Blades of Judgement

Technique

A divine ranged attack where Fused Zamasu fires a barrage of red energy blades from the halo behind his back. Each blade detonates on contact with the ground or a target, creating wide-area explosions.

Mechanics

Fused Zamasu generates this technique through the Barrier of Light, the glowing halo that manifests behind him after fusion. From this ring, he launches a volley of pointed red energy constructs shaped like blades or shards. The projectiles streak toward the target area at high speed and detonate violently upon impact with any surface. Unlike focused beam attacks, the Blades of Judgement function as area-denial weapons, blanketing a zone with explosive impacts that are extremely difficult to evade entirely.

Usage in the Future Trunks Saga

Fused Zamasu deploys this technique repeatedly during his battle against Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks. The attack forces all three Saiyans to scatter and dodge rather than mount a coordinated offense, which plays directly into Zamasu's advantage as a single fighter against multiple opponents. The explosions created by blades striking the ground create secondary hazards that further disrupt the fighters' ability to regroup.

In Super Dragon Ball Heroes

Fused Zamasu uses the Blades of Judgement again during the Universal Conflict Saga against a larger group of fighters including Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Piccolo, and Android 17, demonstrating the technique's effectiveness against multiple targets.

Design and Theme

The technique's name and visual design reinforce Zamasu's self-appointed role as divine judge of mortals. The blades rain down from above like divine punishment, and the halo from which they originate evokes angelic imagery twisted by Zamasu's warped sense of justice. In Xenoverse 2, the technique is a learnable Super Skill that allows players to charge additional blades by holding the input, and any blades that miss will home in on nearby opponents if they were recently knocked away.
