Dark Evolution

Dark Evolution is a specialized technique that only the most magically gifted Demon Gods can perform. It was invented by Putine, one of the Demon Gods serving under Mechikabura in the Dark Empire. The technique works by channeling a potent mixture of Demon God power and kili directly into a target, forcing their body to undergo a transformation that transcends their natural biological limits.

The most notable application of Dark Evolution involved the Bio-Android Cell. When Putine used the technique on Xeno Cell, it forced him to transform into Cell-X, a monstrous configuration that bore little resemblance to Cell's familiar Perfect Form. Cell-X represented an evolutionary branch that Cell could never have reached through his own absorption-based progression, demonstrating that Dark Evolution does not simply accelerate existing growth but redirects it entirely along new paths.

Towa later studied Putine's technique and adapted it for her own purposes. She used her version to cause Xeno Lord Slug to transform into a Dark Super Giant form and merge with the Earth itself. This application demonstrated the technique's versatility, as it could affect Namekians as readily as Bio-Androids, suggesting that Dark Evolution works on a fundamental biological level rather than targeting species-specific traits.

In the World Mission storyline, additional users demonstrated the technique's flexibility. Salsa applied Dark Evolution to Lord Slug during his Great Namekian transformation, intercepting the natural growth process and diverting it into the corrupted Super Giant form instead. This revealed that the technique can hijack transformations already in progress, redirecting them toward darker outcomes.

Sealas, a rogue Time Patroller, replicated the technique through a different method. Rather than casting it directly as a Demon God, he used an anomaly to alter Cell's evolutionary process, causing the standard Cell to transform into Xeno Cell's Cell-X form. After being defeated, Cell reverted to his Super Perfect form, though he retained a Dark Dragon Ball in certain scenarios, suggesting that even temporary Dark Evolution can leave lasting artifacts.

The technique occupies a unique niche among dark power-ups because it does not simply enhance existing strength. Instead, it fundamentally rewrites the target's biological trajectory, creating new forms that would not exist without magical intervention. This makes it both more powerful and more unpredictable than conventional corruption techniques like Villainous Mode or Dark Ki.
