An instant teleportation technique used primarily by Supreme Kais and other divine beings. Unlike Instant Transmission, it requires no ki signature to lock onto, allowing travel anywhere in the universe or even between universes.
Kai Kai is the godly counterpart to Goku's Instant Transmission, and in many ways it is the superior technique. Where Instant Transmission requires the user to sense and lock onto a specific ki signature, Kai Kai has no such restriction. The user can teleport to any location they can think of, whether or not anyone is present there. This makes it invaluable for Supreme Kais who need to travel between planets, realms, and even entire universes with no preparation.
The technique has been used by Kami, Mr. Popo, Kibito, Shin, Kibito Kai, and even Kid Buu, who learned it simply by watching Kibito Kai perform it. The Grand Minister demonstrated the ability to teleport others remotely by using angels as beacons, pulling entire groups of gods across universal boundaries in an instant.
Kibito used Kai Kai for some of the most pivotal rescues in Dragon Ball Z. After being resurrected during the Buu Saga, he teleported to find Shin and the injured Gohan, transporting them to the Sacred World of the Kai. Later, he brought Gohan back to Earth after Old Kai unlocked his full potential, delivering the powered-up fighter just in time to confront Super Buu.
The most dramatic use came when Kid Buu destroyed the Earth. Kibito Kai used Kai Kai to snatch Goku, Vegeta, Dende, Mr. Satan, and Bee from the exploding planet and deposit them safely on the World of the Kais. Without this split-second rescue, the final battle against Kid Buu would never have happened.
Kid Buu proved just how dangerous a fast learner could be when he watched Kibito Kai teleport and immediately replicated the technique. The unpredictable Majin used his stolen Kai Kai to hop from planet to planet, destroying each one in search of Goku and Vegeta. The sequence of Kid Buu methodically obliterating world after world was one of the most chilling moments in the Buu Saga, made possible entirely because he picked up this divine technique through observation alone.
In Dragon Ball Super, Kai Kai became even more prominent. Shin used it to transport himself, Goku, and Whis directly to Zeno's Palace, revealing that every Supreme Kai in every universe possesses the ability to travel between universes. Good Buu later regained access to Kai Kai when the personality of Grand Supreme Kai resurfaced within him during the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, adding yet another user to this exclusive club of teleporters.
