Sante is a ghoul loyal to Kazuichi Banjou, the onetime leader of the 11th ward's ghoul population, and he rarely strays from his siblings Ichimi and Jiro. After Banjou throws in with Kaneki, Sante follows him, drifting through several factions before he lands under the Tokyo Security Committee.
His usual look is a triple-filtered gas mask paired with a hooded top marked by a stitched number three, echoing the Japanese word san for three. Underneath the hood, when it comes down, his black hair sits gathered in a stubby ponytail.
Beyond his steadfast devotion to Banjou, little about him has been revealed.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
Alongside Ichimi and Jiro, Sante trails Banjou to Anteiku, and after Kaneki accidentally floors Banjou the three explain their leader's unrequited feelings for Rize and his failed bid to command the 11th ward's ghouls. Standing with Anti-Aogiri, the trio cut down a guard whose alarm exposes them, then hold the line against the Bin brothers so the others can escape. Yamori recaptures them, yet the Anteiku raid on the 11th ward frees them once more, and they trail Banjou into Kaneki's fold.
During the strike on Kanou's laboratory they slip into the Ghoul Restaurant dressed as janitors, clash with Gagi and Guge, and are brushed aside when they try to defend a wounded Banjou. Once Kaneki's group breaks apart, they vow to stay with Banjou wherever he heads, last appearing beside him and Hinami as she studies Sen Takatsuki's card. In the end Jiro becomes Banjou's wife in a ghoul ceremony arranged by Tsukiyama, and the siblings never stop standing by him.
Sante is voiced by Sota Arai in the Japanese version and Aaron Dismuke in the English dub.
