The Criminal Targeting Kokuri

With the facility sealed, Boruto has his cellmates confirm their possessions while he and Mitsuki share what they have worked out about the theft of a medical tag and the assault on Kokuri. Kamata doubts Boruto's insistence that he is not Tsukiyo's partner, though Arai takes his side. Benga announces a search for the tag and warns that everyone in the guilty cell will face longer sentences and solitary confinement if the culprit cannot be singled out. Outside, Sarada wants to interrogate Tsukiyo, and Mujō insists a guard escort her. As talk turns to the attack, Kamata dismisses the attacker as clumsy and presses Kokuri to reveal why Tsukiyo wants him dead, but Arai cautions that Kamata exploits any useful secret and calls his bluff when he squares up to fight. Arai also quietly warns Boruto about Kedama, urging him not to trust the man's air of indifference. When Arai openly offers his own bunk for inspection and Kamata refuses to allow a search of his, Arai notes that Kamata often speaks with the guard Haie, hinting at a channel to Tsukiyo. Kamata counters by claiming he saw Arai heading toward the medical ward the previous day.

Arai says he was actually at the cafeteria visiting a smuggler and produces chocolate as proof while the sweep drags on. Sarada questions Tsukiyo, who instantly sees through her reporter disguise. Kamata keeps stonewalling the search of his bunk, and when Kokuri mistakenly rifles through Kedama's bedding, Mitsuki uncovers the missing tag in the sheets, shocking Kedama. Arai brands him a coward and reveals that Kedama once informed on the prisoners for the guards and betrayed a would-be escapee. When Arai brings up the Mujina Gang unprompted, Mitsuki catches that no one else had mentioned them, and they accuse Arai of stashing the tag in his own bunk before planting it on Kedama during the distraction. Arai lunges for Kokuri but is dropped by Kedama and pinned by Mitsuki. They hand him and the tag to Benga, lifting the lock-down. Benga reports to Mujō, who cautions against groundlessly suspecting inmates and provoking reprisals. Even with Arai caught, Boruto and Mitsuki still know little about Kokuri or his knowledge of the Mujina.

Benga imposes a cell-by-cell search for the stolen medical tag with heavy penalties for the culprit's cell. Sarada, posing as a reporter, interviews Tsukiyo, who sees through her. Suspicion bounces between Kamata, Arai, and Kedama until Mitsuki finds the tag hidden in Kedama's bedding. Arai's slip about the Mujina Gang exposes him as the true offender; he is subdued and turned over to Benga, ending the lock-down. Mujō warns Benga against baseless accusations, and the pair remain in the dark about Kokuri's link to the Mujina.
