Segment twenty-five of the Shibuya Incident escalates the newly evolved Dagon into a real threat as Naobito's blistering speed, backed by his two allies, dominates the fight, until the curse flips the script and traps the clan head in a coastal domain.
Once a mere cursed womb, Dagon finishes evolving into an enormously powerful cursed spirit. Backed by Maki and Nanami, Naobito overpowers the curse through raw speed. Yet right when the Zenin Clan's head starts to seize control of the duel, Dagon fires off a Domain Expansion that turns everything upside down.
Confronted by a team of sorcerers determined to exorcise him, Dagon gathers a sphere of water at his fingertip and lets it loose as a savage current that submerges the whole area. Maki drives her spear into a pillar and perches atop it to escape the flood, shaken that the curse's water volume far eclipses Megumi's Max Elephant. Naobito, meanwhile, captures much of the onrushing water inside projection frames via his cursed technique. He prods Dagon with chatter about animation frame rates and resolution, while the curse demands to be called by its proper name and insists its allies all bear names too. Caught off guard, Dagon is slammed into the ground when Nanami drops in with his Ratio Technique.
Maki moves to capitalize, but Dagon catches her cursed tool by its blade, so Naobito frames him once more and Nanami strikes him out of it. This time the curse guards himself with a swirling barrier of water. Frustrated that their hits land yet the curse appears to have bottomless stamina, Nanami keeps pressing. Naobito acknowledges Dagon's enormous cursed energy and probable hidden techniques, then rallies the trio to bury the curse under their speed before another move can land. The three pound the water shield in quick succession until Naobito's fist punches through, but Dagon bursts the water as cover and floats upward.
Foreseeing the retreat, Naobito appears at Dagon's back, kicks him down, and buries him under a flurry of blows, proving faster even than Jogo. As the curse tries to weave a hand sign, Naobito rains rapid punches to stop him, yet an eerie seal forms over Dagon's stomach and lets him cast Domain Expansion. In a heartbeat the curse vanishes and Naobito finds himself shut inside a coastal domain, staring out at the open sea, a technique later identified as Horizon of the Captivating Skandha. The chapter falls within the Shibuya Incident Arc and was adapted as Episode 38.
