After one battle bleeds into the next, Megumi is ambushed by another curse user with no time to recover. Elsewhere in Shibuya, Kusakabe and Panda blunder into two of Geto's former officers, while the towering clash of Sukuna and Jogo dwarfs it all.
Ground down by one fight after another, Megumi is given no respite before a fresh curse user strikes. Meanwhile, Kusakabe and Panda blunder into two more foes, though the immense duel of two special grades, Sukuna and Jogo, towers over every lesser skirmish.
Crouching over his dead opponent, Megumi watches the features revert to those of Ogami's grandson, granting that fortune favored him when the man chose to take his own life. Still injured, he debates rushing to Shoko versus first looking in on Maki's team, then a blade catches him from behind, wielded by Haruta Shigemo, who endured his beating from Nanami and revels in striking those unable to defend themselves. In another part of the district, the Kusakabe team wanders without direction, and the clock reads 11:01 P.M. as they linger near Shibuya Stream. Panda presses his teacher to locate Gojo and offers to go solo, unsure where the lower platform lies, while Inumaki has confirmed the civilians are safely moved and Gojo sealed. Kusakabe, refusing to die against special grades, drags his feet on purpose, faking a hopeless sense of direction even though the platform waits just around the corner, and concedes he would rather not be alone in Shibuya.
The two are cornered by a pair of curse users, Toshihisa Negi alongside Manami Suda, both once commanders under Suguru Geto, with foot soldiers ringing them. Reluctant to slay fellow sorcerers, Negi pushes for surrender, but Kusakabe greets the standoff as more time to burn and invites a lengthy conversation. Manami recounts that they inherit Geto's will and plan to back Pseudo-Geto over the Hasaba sisters' protests, remembering how the family fractured when the girls wanted Pseudo-Geto killed while she and Negi sought to help him; Larue settled the quarrel, declaring neither side wrong and promising the family would share a meal again someday. Asked once more if he yields, Kusakabe answers instead by readying his sword art, the New Shadow Style technique Evening Moon Sword Drawing. As Negi prepares a technique of his own, a building behind him erupts, the fallout of Sukuna battering Jogo through the air and taunting him over whether that is all he has.
Unfolding in the Shibuya Incident arc near Shibuya Stream and outside Shibuya Station, the chapter launches the fight between Sukuna and Jogo. It showcases Kusakabe's Evening Moon Sword Drawing and Shigemo's hand-sword cursed tool, with flashbacks featuring Larue and the Hasaba sisters. These events were adapted in Episode 40.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
