Urouge

Huge in both stature and girth, Urouge owns a face that calls to mind a grinning totem mask, since a smile rarely leaves it even in foul moods. A stitched scar runs down toward his left eye, stopping just above it. Dark, unkempt whiskers cover his chin and climb to merge with equally black sideburns, above a short monkish haircut. Flame-shaped tattoos trail down from his shoulders. Beneath khaki robes shared by his crew he wears a white sleeveless garment that bares those flaming arm tattoos, and he completes the look with gold earrings, black gloves, and a thick necklace of red beads. A large pair of wings sprouts from the middle of his back.

The defining quirk of Urouge is his near constant grin, which holds even in defeat or when he believes death is near, such as the moment a Pacifista left him gravely wounded. Courage marks him as well, since he showed no fear of trading blows with opponents carrying heavier bounties, Killer among them, yet he is not reckless enough to ignore real danger. Facing both Kizaru and a Pacifista at once, he openly wondered whether his end had come, though he could still laugh at a grim joke about his fate. He also carries a monk's respect for the burdens others bear. When Kaidou prepared to throw himself off a sky island, Urouge chose not to interfere and instead offered a prayer.

Born on an unidentified sky island, Urouge founded the Fallen Monk Pirates and somehow descended into the Blue Sea, where his strength earned him a fearsome name. By the time his crew reached the Sabaody Archipelago, his reputation had drawn a bounty of 108 million. His Devil Fruit, a Paramecia type, takes the harm inflicted on him and pours it into swelling muscle and increased size, letting him eventually overshadow a Pacifista in bulk and crack it with his fists.

On Sabaody he scuffled with Killer of the Kid Pirates until X Drake broke the two apart. While slipping away to dodge Kizaru, he was set upon by a Pacifista and tossed into the admiral's clash with Basil Hawkins. Hawkins assured him death was not in his future, and after his muscles ballooned he managed to batter the cyborg, only for it to punch a laser through his shoulder. Kizaru then kicked him at light speed through three buildings, knocking him out, though he escaped capture thanks to the Straw Hats drawing the admiral away.

After watching Ace's execution broadcast, Urouge sailed on to the New World and later wandered into Big Mom's Totto Land during the timeskip. There he managed to defeat the Sweet Commander Charlotte Snack before Charlotte Cracker beat him down and forced him to flee. Following Doflamingo's fall, his crew retreated to the ruined sky island of Ballon Terminal, where they discovered Kaidou about to leap to his death. Rather than intervene, Urouge prayed as the Emperor jumped.
